A morning in Venice’s 18th century museum
What would you say about taking a short trip to the past?
Let’s say the 18th century, one of the most intriguing and exciting times in Venetian history.
Well, Ca’Rezzonico Museum is the place for you! The façade of the palazzo gives onto the Grand Canal just before it turns a corner towards the Rialto. Once you walk in, you’ll be wrapped in the building’s peculiar atmosphere: here we’ll see a gondola up close, the charming ball room, the throne room, and heading upstairs, which is all covered by the inimitable frescoes of Giandomenico Tiepolo, a glamorous bedroom.
Heading outdoors, we’ll take a break in the beautiful garden where we’ll reenact some of the favourite games played by Venetian noblemen over 200 years ago. Let’s see if you already know any of them!
