Hélène Salvadori

I was born in France but grew up in Venice into a family of art historians hence from the very beginning developed a deep interest and an in-depth knowledge of Venice. I spent few months studying at Warwick University in England and after finishing my degree in history and art history at Ca’ Foscari, the university of Venice.
I worked at the International Press Office of Venice Film Festival for seven years and as a tour manager and interpreter in Venice for ten years. I also specialized in events organization and I have consequently developed excellent working relations with Venetian institutions and refined my skills as a cultural liaisor.
In the year 2000 I obtained my license to be an official guide of the city and created a web site for guided tours www.aguideinvenice.com and worked since then with agencies, institutes, universities and private clients. In 2006 I created the architectural guided tours for the international meeting of the R.I.B.A. in Venice and in 2009 I guided Sheikh Sultan Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan and his guests for Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture & Heritage (Adach) during the Biennale of visual arts.
My curiosity for different cultures and languages keeps me visiting different countries hence my passion for travelling. Other interests include cooking, contemporary dance and art but above all yoga. I often spend the winter months in India practicing this ancient Hindu discipline. I am fluent in French and English.
